Mission for Saturday!

O wait! Before I sleep...I am going to give you a mission for Saturday!! Make sure you tell everyone that you love that you love them and thank them for something that they have done in your life! Not just a simple thank you, but specify what it is that they have done for you! I know that some people need some encouragement in their life :)

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Joy #8

#8 Laughter
Today I found joy in in laughing with my friends. It was a pretty stressful week with a lot of homework due today. It was a full day with a lot to do, hence me posting at 1:40 in the morning. But as soon as I got on the hall tonight the Lord just allowed me to relax. My friend Kourtney and I made a funny music video for my sister Lauren and we just laughed hysterically the whole time. My friend Kim told me about a dream she had and I couldn't stop laughing. Thank you Lord for relieving stress and giving me friends that I can laugh with!

I am exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!! :)

Joy #7

#7
Today I found joy in pizza hut pizza.

Okay....so that is not very deep. But it's true! It is SO GOOD. I spent the majority of my day writing two papers but I had two little nice breaks in between. And one of them was pizza hut pizza! It was so delicious! We have a little place on campus that sells them. They are cute little personal pan pizzas that make the whole world just a little bit happier. Hahahaha...but anyways....I know we all have our comfort foods and pizza hut pizza is one of mine!

So my advice for today: Take study breaks! Or writing paper breaks. Or work breaks! Breaks are good.

Aww man...I wrote this one kind of late...so now its going to say that I wrote it on Friday when I really wrote this on  Thursday!! Man. hahaha...O well :) Everyone I did start writing this on Thursday, I promise! I am sorry i wrote it so late...I literally have not stopped typing all day (except for the two little breaks to go get food)

I do have a funny story though...today I was walking with my friend Kim for dinner and she realized that she had accidentally thrown her Flames Pass (our cards we use to swipe for food) in the huge green dumpster outside of our dorm. O yes. It was epic. We were about to jump in when I suggested we use a stick to pull the bag out that she had thrown it away it. Thank the Lord I thought of that (not to think highly of myself) but if I hadn't we would have been stuck in a green dumpster since it was practically empty and really big so it would have been impossible to climb out of! It was hilarious.

Well I need sleep (as you can probably tell from my post). I will close this with some words from God.  Have a great night everyone!!!

"Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart that I may fear Your name." Psalm 86:11

Joy #6

#6
Ooooo man. I found that it is hard sometimes to find joy in anything when you are stressed. Today I kept praying "Lord, give me joy". He said to be content in all circumstances, so that is what I am trying to do!! :)

But today I found joy in getting to see my friend Calvin and four guys from my brother dorm get baptized along with 50 other Liberty students! I just think it is SUCH a great proclamation of your faith. It was awesome! Being at church was great, I didn't feel stressed at all. While I was watching everyone get baptized I was thinking "This is what really and truly matters. Christ and living for Christ." :) Thank you Lord for teaching me that it is NOT about me!

Joy #5

#5

Today the Lord showed me joy in naps. I know that sounds silly, but He did. I am a little stressed out right now. I have a lot of projects due Friday and being an R.A. doesn't make it any easier (I am not complaining, I wouldn't have it any other way :) ) But this morning before I left I started thinking about everything that I had to do. Matthew chapter 6 kept coming to my mind when Jesus says:  "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

So on the car ride back to school I put my headphones in and took a little nap.....when I got back to school I did the same thing! I just felt relaxed and it was very much needed. Naps are delightful hahahaha, especially at school when everything gets really busy and sleep becomes less and less. I find joy in getting a little bit of sleep. It may sound silly, but I bet you you like naps too :)

Joy #4

Today I found joy in sunshine! :) It was such a BEAUTIFUL day out. Riding around in my home town with the windows down and sunglasses on: PERFECT.

Except I got sunburnt. Hahaha, but that is okay!

Today I got up and went to Starbucks with my mom and sister. Then we went and ate lunch with my Dad and Brother. I also had to get my car inspected (it passed. Praise the Lord haha)
I helped my sister with a photo shoot today, I shouldn't be a model....I make too many funny faces. I did some planning for my sister's bridal shower and then went to the movies tonight with some friends and saw Arther: good movie!

I am so glad I got to spend a few days at home. Sadly I have to go back to school tomorrow....I like my school and friends, but I am ready for SUMMER!! ♥

Joy #3

#3

Today I found joy in my car ride home. The rest of the day was joyful with my family, but the ride home from school was so relaxing! I had my windows rolled down and music blaring. And I was singing at the TOP of my lungs. It was awesome! The latter part of this semester has been very stressful, so this was just what I needed. I am thankful that God let me have the car ride home. It was such a beautiful day all together.

Joy #2

Today I found joy in going to go see The Phantom of the Opera at my school with my family!! :) We had a wonderful day walking around downtown and then going to see the play. It was BEAUTIFUL! They did such a great job!! God has given each of the actors/singers such a beautiful talent. The sets and costumes were so beautiful. All together it was a wonderful day, thank you Lord for the opportunity to enjoy things like this in life. God doesn't want us to go through life miserable, He put things on this earth for us to enjoy because He loves us.

Thank You for today!

Joy #1

#1 My School

Today (though it is not over yet) has not been the best day so far. I woke up late and it's quite chilly outside. I just got back to my dorm room and I was thinking about the day and how unjoyful it seemed. I feel like I am pretty selfish though. I have been blessed with the ability to be able to go to college, especially my college, and have the ability to learn something that I really love. So today God taught me joy by reminding me that I go to an awesome school where I am constantly being poured in to by Godly men and women. I have grown SO much while being here at Liberty. I feel like God has taken me on an incredibly journey as He has shown me how much he loves me and the ultimate sacrifice He paid for me. It's not just about going to church and memorizing verses, which isn't bad, but it's about having a RELATIONSHIP with him. A relationship where I come to Him with everything I have. A relationship where not only do I talk to Him but He talks to ME :) :)
I love it!

I am blessed to go to a college where we pray in classes, where we have fun, where I have someone who prays for me daily and I have people I pray for daily.  Thanks Lord for helping me find joy even when I don't feel very joyful :)

365 days of Joy :)

Hey everyone!!! So as you can see, my blog has changed quite a bit. I decided to do something a little different ;)

The other day in RA class our speaker told us about this book called One Thousand Gifts which was written by this women who's friend challenged her to find a thousand joys in life which were given to her by God. I have never read the book, but I thought it was a neat concept. I decided that I wanted to do something similar. Each day for a whole year I want to find something each day that brings me joy that I know was given to me by God. James 1: 17 says "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows"

The purpose of this is to stop keeping the focus on myself and my trials, but instead focus on the day to day things that the Lord gives me. I plan to do this each day for a year. I can't promise I will be faithful every day in doing so because of the fact that I will be at camp this summer, but I am going to try. I will find one joy (though a know there will be more than one a day) per day and write it down and then I will share it on here.

Each day will be something different, no repeats :)

I hope to learn a lot from this, I know it may sound cheesy or whatever but I think it will be a great growing experience from the Lord. I will also post pictures as much as I can of each thing.

I will officially start tomorrow! I will also be starting another blog that I will be posting the link for on here in a bit, that is focusing on thanking God.

I hope everyone has a beautiful Thursday!
My blog is going to have a facelift soon! Have a neat idea for something to blog about. I will work on it tomorrow. Night all!

Crazyyyy

So I haven't blogged in a while. Life here has been pretty hectic and stressful. Lots of stuff going on but I don't feel like I have that much of an exciting life at the moment to tell you all about :)

This weekend my sister Lauren came to visit so that was fun. We went and saw Tangled 3D with our friends Calvin and Kourtney. On Saturday some of the dorm at my school put together a yard sale to raise money for the  Japan relief, so that was awesome! Everything was 3 dollars and I got some cute things! We spent the rest of the day with my bestie Katie and her adorable 2 and a half month old baby boy Noah. We went to Sweet Frog, Panera and watched a movie. Sunday Lauren had to leave but I spent the evening with friends so it was a nice way to end the weekend. Today has been pretty decent. I had class all day and then this evening had a picnic with my RA group out on a hill. It was beautiful out! Right now I am working on a paper but decided to take a break. I hope everyone has a great week and a wonderful Easter!
