Hey everyone!!! So as you can see, my blog has changed quite a bit. I decided to do something a little different ;)
The other day in RA class our speaker told us about this book called One Thousand Gifts which was written by this women who's friend challenged her to find a thousand joys in life which were given to her by God. I have never read the book, but I thought it was a neat concept. I decided that I wanted to do something similar. Each day for a whole year I want to find something each day that brings me joy that I know was given to me by God. James 1: 17 says "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows"
The purpose of this is to stop keeping the focus on myself and my trials, but instead focus on the day to day things that the Lord gives me. I plan to do this each day for a year. I can't promise I will be faithful every day in doing so because of the fact that I will be at camp this summer, but I am going to try. I will find one joy (though a know there will be more than one a day) per day and write it down and then I will share it on here.
Each day will be something different, no repeats :)
I hope to learn a lot from this, I know it may sound cheesy or whatever but I think it will be a great growing experience from the Lord. I will also post pictures as much as I can of each thing.
I will officially start tomorrow! I will also be starting another blog that I will be posting the link for on here in a bit, that is focusing on thanking God.
I hope everyone has a beautiful Thursday!
Day one: My Daddy
ReplyDelete:-) It's a good book...you should read it while you're doing this! I'm excited to see the things you're able to find joy in over the next year. Love you!
ReplyDeleteI think. Its a good idea, I love it!
ReplyDeleteRead your intro and am inspired already. I am hoping this will help me to see the joy a bit more clearly as well.
ReplyDeleteAw Danny that is such a great idea!! I need to start writing in my blog again!
ReplyDeleteDaniell, this is such a great concept. You will find very often you won't need to work very hard at it. I did something similar a couple of years ago for a long while. I called it looking for God moments. I saw God in some of the littlest things. That was the time I began getting joy out of all the bare trees, and the snow of winter. It is all God's beauty. I like watching the different kind of trees to see how God made them all.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I look forward to seeing the joys God gives you!
